How does the ordering process work?
- Browse through the Simple Wishes’ website and take a look at the many stylish and eye-catching design choices that are available to you. We are confident that you will find something that you will fall in love with!
- Once you have chosen your design and decided on the format and size, click on the order button.
- Complete order form which outlines the details of your announcement / invitation. Remember to include the details of any changes to the design or special requests.
This is also where you will upload your photo(s). Please read the information below regarding how to submit your photo file(s) to ensure the best quality. Click on the checkout button.
- The checkout page will give you a cost summary of your order and give you the opportunity to enter your contact information including name, mailing address, e-mail address, etc.
You will also have the option of purchasing additional products including return, address labels and frameable, keepsake prints. Click on the submit order button.
- Now it’s our turn! We will use the information you submitted and your photo(s) to customize your order. Once the proof has been completed, we will send you an e-mail with a link that enables you to view your proof.
- At this point, please review your proof in detail to ensure the information is 100% correct and that you are happy with the design.
- If you are satisfied with the proof, select the option to accept the proof as shown and authorize us to send the file to the printer. We will not have your order printed until you tell us that you are fully satisfied with the proof.
If you authorize your proof, you will then be required to submit a payment for your order. Simple Wishes utilizes the secure services of PayPal to complete all financial transactions.
- If you are not satisfied with the proof, your alternative option will be to send us an e-mail detailing any changes you would like made to the proof. We want you to be 100% satisfied and will work with you until you are.
- Once you give us your final authorization, we will send your file to the printer. Please note that we must first receive your payment before the printing process can begin.
- The final step is for you to receive your order through Canada Post’s Expedited Parcel Service and enjoy the excitement as family and friends receive their announcements / invitations.
What file format and resolution should my photos be sent in?
Our # 1 goal (along with outstanding customer service, of course) is for your Simple Wishes’ product to look its best. With this in mind, please consider that we can only produce great quality, if we are given suitable images to work with.
To ensure the highest quality possible, please submit your photo(s) based on the following:
- ensure that your photos are original (not cropped or edited) and are saved in JPG or TIFF format;
- please do not send photos that are stored on websites, shared back and forth by e-mail or are taken by cell phones as they have a low resolution and provide a low quality image;
- your photos should be at least 1200 x 1800 pixels in resolution. A higher resolution is even better;
- if you scan a photo, please ensure that it is scanned at 100% at a minimum of 4” x 6” at 300 dpi and save at the highest quality possible in JPG or TIFF format.
Please remember to take your chosen design into consideration when choosing your photo. For example, if your design has a picture that is horizontal on the card, ensure that your photo will properly fit into that space.
We’d be more than happy to have a look at your photo(s) prior to ordering if you have any questions or concerns as to whether your photo(s) will meet printing standards and work with your chosen design.
Can I send you photos that were taken by a professional photographer / studio?
Simple Wishes respects and upholds the legal rights of professional photographers / studios. Please keep in mind that the unauthorized use of professional images is illegal. If you have a copyrighted image and wish to use if for your order, please contact the photographer to request a signed copyright release. We will not proceed with your order until we receive this release.
I submitted my order to you, but I haven’t received a confirmation e-mail?
Check your junk mail or spam folders just in case your e-mail program automatically sent
our e-mails there. If you don’t find our e-mail in either of those locations,
please contact Simple Wishes immediately.
Do you have any tips on how I can get a perfect photo for my card?
Keep your photo(s) simple in all aspects by taking the following suggestions into consideration:
- choose simple, solid-colored clothing as bright colors and large patterns draw attention away from the face;
- try to eliminate distractions from the backgrounds of your pictures. A plain background tends to work best as it ensures that the focus of our photo is your subject(s);
- don’t be afraid to zoom in to your subject(s) when taking pictures; a close-up will truly capture your subject’s personality and features;
- the perfect shot may be one in a hundred…. the more pictures you take, the better the chance that you’ll capture that one perfect moment.
Can I request changes after I see my proof?
Yes. Your satisfaction is extremely important to us and we will work with you until you are 100% pleased with your design(s). Please note that once you have approved your proof, no additional changes can be accepted.
What is the minimum order quantity?
When ordering items printed on Kodak Endura professional photo paper, you must order a minimum of 25 cards. Items printed on cardstock are sold in boxes of 24 cards and the minimum order is 1 box.
I’m interested in ordering a birth announcement from you, but I would like it in different colours than what I see on your website. Can you do this?
If you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, we can modify an existing design for you. We are more than willing to customize our designs to meet your needs.
Do you have something in mind that you don’t see on our website? Please let us know and we’ll work with you to create it. There will be an additional charge of $25.00 for this service.
Can you do minor touch ups to my image?
Yes, minor touch-ups to your photos are a part of our service and is included in the cost.

What is a digital, photo montage?
We will transform your cherished photos into a memorable video that will be treasured by generations to come. We custom design your slideshow by incorporating titles, captions, pans and zooms and set it to a meaningful song of your choice. As with our printed products, we will bring your photos to life by making the necessary adjusts to colour, contrast, light intensity and minor flaws.
A digital, photo montage is a fabulous way to commemorate your special, life events such as the birth of your child, anniversaries, weddings, retirements or as a tribute to a loved one who has passed away. Your life’s biggest events are endless and so are the possibilities for us to create a digital, photo montage for you.
What is a frameable, photo keepsake?
A frameable, photo keepsake is an enlargement of the design you ordered for your announcements / invitations. They are great for hanging in your home or giving as a gift. For example, we can have your baby’s birth announcement enlarged so that you can display it in the nursery. What a great gift to give the new grandparents. Or, how about keeping the memory of your wedding alive by displaying an enlarged image of your wedding invitation. The keepsake prints come in 8” x 12” or 8” x 8” depending on if you ordered square or rectangular announcements / invitations.
What if there is a mistake on my printed cards?
We guarantee that you will love the products you receive from Simple Wishes!!
If, the error or problem with your order is due to an error on our part, simply return the cards and we will reprint your order. We’ll also pay for the cost for you to return the products to us.
We do not anticipate any errors or problems as we ensure that you are 100% satisfied with your design and have authorized the proof before we send your order to the printer. Therefore, it is imperative that you review your proof 1, 2 and even 3 times to ensure that the information is correct. Only after you have given final approval will your card be printed.
I have a gift certificate / coupon. How do I use it?
On the cost summary section of the checkout page, you will have the opportunity to enter the promotional code that can be found on your gift certificate or coupon.
What is your cancellation policy?
Simple Wishes does not require our customers to submit a payment until their proofs are authorized and will not send your order to the printer until your payment is received. Therefore, you are able to cancel your order anytime before we receive our payment.
Are envelopes included with my order?
Yes. Quality envelopes with a square flap are included with every order. We even include a couple of extra envelopes for every 25 cards ordered (just in case).
We also offer return address labels designed to compliment your announcement / invitation.
What kind of paper do you use?
Our photo paper options are printed in a professional photo lab on Kodak Professional Endura photo paper. Kodak states that Endura photo paper permits long-lasting prints with pleasing colour and exceptional flesh-tone reproduction.
Our products cardstock products are professionally, press printed. They are printed on quality 10pt cardstock.
Can the envelopes be sent to me early so that I may have extra time to address them?
Simple Wishes offers a convenient pre-ship envelope service to all customers. To ensure the correct envelope size, you must first select your design.
I know that PayPal is known to be a 100% secure service, but I would prefer to send you a cheque through the mail. Can I do this?
Simple Wishes accepts personal cheques, money orders and certified cheques through regular mail service. Please note that we cannot process your order until we have received your payment. If sending a personal cheque, it must first clear with the bank before we begin your order.
Simple Wishes uses PayPal as our preferred method of payment. You will be redirected to PayPal's
secure website to enter your payment information. We will never see your credit card number or
bank account number. PayPal is the industry leader in online payment options and uses the Secure
Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level
commercially available). Please visit www.paypal.ca for further information.

Do you have an online newsletter that will inform me of upcoming specials?
Simple Wishes will send periodic e-mails to individuals that voluntarily sign up to receive our newsletter. The e-mails will outline any special promotions, events or specials that Simple Wishes may offer.
